Problem Note 50246: The Delete option is not active when attempting to delete SAS® Strategy Management ROM Reports in SAS® Management Console

DetailsAboutRate It

If you attempt to delete a SAS Strategy Management ROM report within SAS Management Console, the Delete option might not be active, as shown in the following display:

Delete option not active

This problem occurs when SAS Management Console is launched from a client work station or the metadata server.

There are two options to remedy this situation:

Option 1:

If SAS Management Console has been installed on your SAS middle-tier server, launch SAS Management Console from there. The Delete option should be active when you attempt to delete a SAS Strategy Management report.

Option 2:

If you want to delete SAS Strategy Management reports when SAS Management Console is launched from a machine other than the middle-tier server, you can run the SAS® Deployment Wizard from a client work station or the metadata server where SAS Management Console is already installed and follow these steps:

  1. Verify that no one is logged in to SAS Management Console on the target machine.
  2. In a Windows operating environment, start Windows Explorer and navigate to the SAS Software Depot or installation DVDs. Then right-click setup.exe and select Run as administrator to launch the SAS Deployment Wizard.

In a UNIX operating environment, execute setup.sh.

  3. Select a language to view the SAS Deployment Wizard.
  4. On the Select Deployment Task page, select Install SAS Software.
    Install SAS Software

  5. On the Select Deployment Type page, select Install Additional Software.
    Install Additional Software

  6. On the Select Products to Install page, select SAS Strategy Management Logical Types.

  7. On the Specify SAS Installation Data File page, browse to the current SID file for your installation.
  8. On the Checking System page, verify that Tooling initialization complete and Examing File System are both 100% before clicking Next.
  9. On the Deployment Summary page, verify that the selected software includes SAS Strategy Management Logical Types before you click Start.
  10. When the deployment is complete, click Next.
  11. Click Finish.

After you complete the steps above, you should be able to launch SAS Management Console and delete SAS Strategy Management reports.
